Your Puppy Doesn’t Know, Take Your Own Responsibility

We see it every time again and again, the expectations of dog owners are too high for their dog, without ever teaching them what is right. Just like Susan Garrett said,

“Your dog can only do the best they can, with the education you have given them and in the environment you put them in.” - Susan

With a new puppy in our home, we become more aware of the things we didn’t pick up. I can’t blame Luna for that, she only helps us to remind us of what we left behind. We constantly thank her for the reminder, instead of blaming her for what she chooses to play with.

To set your dog up for success, you need to work on your education with the environment you put them in.

The level of distraction will tell you how much they understand what the expectations are.

When you see the behaviour of your puppy as the feedback in your conversation with them, you can take your own responsibility to be more clear and create a confident environment where they WANT to learn from you.

Working in this way with your dog, is teamwork and it becomes a win-win situation for both of you. Training should be fun and help you deepen your relationship together, not break it down.

When you approach every negative behaviour with a positive “how can we make this fun?” mindset, the longer lasting relationship you will have!

Are you ready to make every training session fun and bring clear expectations to your dog, that they will be able to achieve? Check out our Dog Mastery Program!
